About The Photographer
Amy was born in Atlanta but mostly reared in East Tennessee. She is of Scottish and Italian descent who grew up in a small unincorporated town called Midtown, tucked between Harriman and Kingston, southwest of Knoxville. She currently lives in Lakeland TN with her husband Terry. When they first moved to Memphis, she lived in Midtown, oddly enough. There is a huge contrast between the two Midtowns. One a constant lively party, the other quiet, ‘tight-knit’ working class community.
She received a BA in Communications from The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, where she concentrated on visual arts and photography. She was active in many university activities: WUTC 88.1 fundraising events, Student Orientation Board, Sigma Kappa and the College Access Program for students with physical and learning disabilities. She served on the board of the Smoky Mountain Professional Photographers, Currently East Tennessee Professional Photographers in Knoxville. Some of her wedding photography has appeared in local and regional publications such as Premier Bride and I Do for Brides magazine.
She has worn many hats through the years: darkroom manager, retail photo-finisher, sales, custom album designer, digital retouch artist, event photographer and a phlebotomist. Yes, a certified vampire for Covenant Health in Knoxville TN. She presently active volunteering at Brooks Museum of Art as a Docent and Memphis Germantown Art League.
Things about Amy that most people don’t know about. In 1968, she is one of the survivors in a deadly gas main explosion at a daycare center in Hapeville Ga.
First things first. I don't work with everybody that comes knocking on my door. I only work with people that have seen my past work, and want something similar. You have to really love my style before even thinking about working with me. Otherwise --- this won't end up in a good place for either of us. That said --- I'm a portrait girl. I shoot weddings, family events, babies, kids, grandparents, headshots.....if it has a face, I'll shoot it. :) With a camera of course. As far as pricing goes --- there are just so many variables that come into play that I really need to talk to you first. So send me a message and let's connect. I'm looking forward to hearing from you!
